Svjatoslav focuses his practice primarily on assisting clients in complex (criminal) tax audits and litigation in relation to direct and indirect taxes. This also includes prevention of tax litigation through sanity checks, risk assessments and fine-tuning of existing structures as well as obtaining preliminary tax rulings for his clients. Svjatoslav represents clients before all Belgian courts (including the Court of Cassation in tax and criminal matters) and before international courts such as the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Court of Human Rights.
In addition, Svjatoslav has gained extensive experience in advising clients on Belgian and international tax law. He has worked on various domestic and international M&A and private equity transactions as well as cross-border restructurings (including carve-out transactions), sanity checks and risk assessments of different types of companies and their tax planning schemes
As of January 2018, Svjatoslav became a partner at Eubelius and he is leading our tax litigation practice.
He graduated from KU Leuven in 2009 with a focus on economic and tax law.
Svjatoslav started his career in the Brussels office of a top tier international law firm, where he built up extensive experience advising Belgian and international clients on a variety of issues relating to Belgian and international tax law.
He has rapidly gained an excellent market reputation and recognition for his work on complex tax audit and tax litigation cases, for which he has been listed as one of the leading tax dispute resolution attorneys in Belgium.
Svjatoslav is the author of several publications in the field of corporate and (criminal) tax law. He is also a regular speaker at conferences and seminars.
Svjatoslav speaks five languages (Dutch, French, English, German and Russian).
