On 13 January 2025, Delhaize De Leeuw (‘Delhaize’) and Louis Delhaize reached an agreement on the acquisition by Delhaize of all shares in Delfood. The acquisition concerns all Louis Delhaize stores and stores supplied by Delfood. The transaction is subject to the approval of the competition authorities and the parties aim to complete the transaction by the end of 2025. With this transaction, Delhaize intends to expand its position in the Belgian retail market (and in particular in the convenience segment).
